Narutal Sciences Vs Social Sciences.

Natural Sciences is different from Social Sciences because the natural Sciences study the intellectual and academic endeavors designed to explain and predict the events in our natural environment, this study is divided in different branches, the first one is Biology that is divided in (Botany and Zoology) the second one is Geology that is divided in ( Mineralogy and Geomorphology) the third one is Chemistry that is also divided in (Organic and Inorganic) and the last one is Physic that is also divided in two branches that are (Biology and Botany) (1) so when we see Botany we think and plants or everything that are green, and also if we see the word zoology the first thing that come to you mind is animals (2). This is the information from natural sciences that show why is different from Social Sciences.

Social science Vs Natural Sciences

Sociology is the scientific study of human social behavior in the environment. The study of humans in their collective aspect, sociology is concerned with all group activities like: economic, social, political, and religious. And also one detail that’s very important is that sociology tries to determine the laws governing human behavior in social contexts. As you read the definition of sociology you can see the different from the natural Sciences and the social sciences this are the two different studies.

2)Serbs’ Attack on Sarajevo Keeps Bosnians From Talks By JOHN F. BURNS, July 23, 1993 - By JOHN F. BURNS, (NYT) - World - News - 991 words

Hospitals reported at least 10 people killed and more than 50 seriously wounded. As has almost always been the case with the artillery attacks, most victims were civilians. This effect my life because lot of people die by this accident when i was born. So less people was in my country by this time.

Sociological imagination is the connection between a private problem and a public issue or in another words how something that happen in the world affect your life. In this project I showed how history influenced me even unconsciously. I am sure that this happens to every person because society shapes people’s life.

(U.S) Using an arcane procedure and careful vote counting, Democratic abortion-rights supporters won a skirmish today over whether Federal employees’ health insurance could cover abortions. By a 15-to-14 vote in the Senate Appropriations Committee, they killed a measure that would have prohibited insurance plans financed by the Federal Government from paying for abortions except in cases of rape, incest or threats to the life of the mother. The provision was approved by a subcommittee earlier this week.

(World) China’s new economic program may or may not succeed in bringing down inflation, but it is already having one far-reaching effect: it is making many ordinary workers spitting mad. When millions of Chinese collected their June salaries, they found most or all of their pay docked. The money went to purchase Government bonds, which nearly all urban citizens have been forced to buy.

Quote

1.Nothing to be done.”
- Samuel Beckett, Waiting for Godot

Its a  importat quote because and is connected with Aburdism that mean somebody think that life dont make sense and Nothing to be done how the quote say.
2. Such is life.”
- Samuel Beckett, Waiting for Godot

By this quote he may say that life is like that, And i think by this he mean that even he think that life  dont have sense he traying to finding So that mean that this quote connectd with existentialism, that even think that life dont make sense tray to finding.
3.We are all born mad. Some remain so.”
- Samuel Beckett, Waiting for Godot
This quote  may can be connectd with both abusurdism and existentialism because is like depend like the way how you say. But is like more connected with absurdism because its like dont make sense.

4.
    VLADIMIR:
Question of temperament.
ESTRAGON:
Of character.
VLADIMIR:
Nothing you can do about it.
ESTRAGON:
No use struggling.
VLADIMIR:
One is what one is.
ESTRAGON:
No use wriggling.
VLADIMIR:
The essential doesn’t change.
These lines mean that one is what one is and there’s nothing to look for; in other words, why struggle looking for the meaning of something or someone it is just what it is. This concept is connected to absurdism because it kind of means we don’t have to look for a meaning of a person because it doesn’t exist.

5.       POZZO

(halting). You are human beings none the less. (He puts on his glasses.) As far as one can see. (He takes off his glasses.) Of the same species as myself. (He bursts into an enormous laugh.) Of the same species as Pozzo! Made in God’s image!

This line tells that everyman is the same made in God’s image. So this is connected to existentialism because it shows that the meaning of person will always be God which made man. This is related to the movie I Heart Huckabees because it is related to the same method the existentialist detective used with the blanket to convince Albert that everything is the same though they are different in certain way. Consequently what Pozzo said shows that he believed everyone is equal and need to be treated equally.

6.)Pozzo: the more people I meet the happier I become. From the meanest creature one departs wiser, richer, more conscious of one’s blessing.
this line is inportant because it shows happiness something that in this play is shown pretty much nowhere. this line is connected to the human condition….well to my human condition (i think im a human) because when i meet someone that its interesting i feel really happy since im getting to know someone new that could teach me something really interesting as an example is this one time while i was playing tennis that i meet a girl that i don remember the name but teach me how to grip the racket  in the back handed grip.

7.POZZO: (sobbing). He used to be so kind … so helpful … and entertaining … my good angel … and now … he’s killing me.

this shows that pozzo DOES CARE about LUCKY, but in the way lucky is reight now is just giving him headaches

8. Vladimir:

You don’t remember any fact, any

Circumstance?

Estragon:

(Weary). Don’t torment me, Didi.

Vladimir:

The sun. The moon. Do you not

remember?

Estragon:

They must have been there, as usual.

-This is important because this is about how Estragon doesn’t remember about things he have done before, and also I think because of his age he really doesn’t remember a lot of things.

9. Estragon: Nothing we can do about it.

This line is very important because they just keep repeating it over and over again through out the play. It tells us that they just get use to life and accept things as they are, they don’t try to change anything.

Connection to Absurdism: This line also connects to absurdism because there is nothing they can do. Even if they try, something that I don’t think they are doing, nothing would change or improve because they believe things are meant to be that way.

10.

“Waiting for Godot” an existentialist or an absurdist play? Please explain!

Waiting for Godot is a play that involved adsurdism and Existentialism philosophies at the same time. But in my opinion this play is more absurd than existential because first the them of the play does not really make sense, they were doing the same thing over an over again without obtaining any benefit, there were just getting closer to death because they though more than one time to hang themselves from the tree. Also even knowing that because they were waiting for Godot was some that kept them living, at the end they did not get anything new they were the same, they were just wasting there time day after day without getting anything Estragon was beat up every day, they did not have anything to eat. As well as they were doing the most absurd thing, which was that they were waiting for some one that they did not know.

"Waiting for Godot" similar to life in the Bronx

  • This study “Waiting for Godot” is similar to life in the Bronx because in the Bronx there are a lot of people in the street that they are homeless like Vladimir & Estragon. Also is similar because their were alone both of them, And i think this is connected to life in the Bronx because for example when you come from another country and you don’t know anything about you feel that way. Also is connected with the Bronx because some people come from another place or country to find their American dream here in the Bronx or in this country, but sometime from even they have their dream there sometime they can’t get this dream because you may  want but you maybe don’t know the language or because you feel you never can’t get it. Or also because you don’t have support from another people to make it.

Do Now: Waiting for Godot is a play by Samuel Beckett. The play depicts the meaninglessness of life—with its repetitive plot, where nothing much happens. Here are a few quotes from Waiting for Godot.

Nothing to be done.”
- Samuel Beckett, Waiting for Godot

Its a  importat quote because and is connected with Aburdism that mean somebody think that life dont make sense and Nothing to be done how the quote say.

Such is life.”

By this quote he may say that life is like that, And i think by this he mean that even he think that life  dont have sense he traying to finding So that mean that this quote connectd with existentialism, that even think that life dont make sense tray to finding.

We are all born mad. Some remain so.”
- Samuel Beckett, Waiting for Godot

This quote  may can be connectd with both abusurdism and existentialism because is like depend like the way how you say. But is like more connected with absurdism because its like dont make sense.

LITERARY ELEMENT

  • METAPHOR

what does mean: the comparison of one thing to another without.

Example: but my heart is a lonely hunter that hunt on a lonely hill by Williams

A man may break a word with you sir and words are but wind. by Shakespeare

Example from the book: pozzo lets say no mere up pig

Estrango people are bloody ignorant apes

own definition when you compare something without like or as.

  •  REPETITION

what does mean: the return of a word phase stanza for or effect in any form of literature repetition is an effective

Example TV song shows

Example from the book : nothing to be done

shows us the way they live they never know what would happen next they just live day today.

Connection to Absurd ism: when estragon repeat the phase nothing to be done.

  •  ALLEGORY

what does mean: the representation of abstract idea or principle by character figure or event in events in narrative dramatic or physical form.

Example: the turtle and the rabbit

the alchemist is an allegory for porney

Example from the a book: ti could be an allegory for searching the life because there are two people who vladimir and estragon who are looking for meaning of their lives.

Important lines

Pozzo: you are human beings none the less. As far as one can see. Of the same species as myself. Of the same species as pozzo! Made in God’s imagine!

This line is important because it shows that even though that Pozzo seems to be rich and be an important man, he doesn’t discriminate others. He sees everyone else just like him, no matter color, religion or anything else. This quote tells us that for him every body is equal.

-Vladimir: You want to get rid of him?

Pozzo: I do. But instead of driving him away as I might have done, I mean instead of simply kicking him out on his arse, in the goodness of my heart I am bringing him to the fair, where I hope to get good price for him. The truth is you cant drive such creatures away. The best thing would be to kill them.

-This line are important because this show that Pozzo want to get rid of Lucky, because he is not good no more for him.

ESTRAGON:How long have you been here?

BOY:A good while, Sir.

These lines are important because Estragon ask the boy how long he was there and the boy say a while but how they did not see him before is they are in the middle of nothing there is just a road and a tree, so where the boy was hidden because there is nothing around.
